For several years Averil walked regularly with our Belper Walking for Health group, in which talking is as important as walking, and her friendly personality made her a popular companion.

She was usually amongst the first people to arrive at the meeting point, keen to get out into the fresh air, and doubtless looking forward to enjoying her weekly lunch (indoors, thankfully) with some of her fellow walkers.

Whenever group walking becomes possible once again, we shall miss Averil's company.
